Virtual Private Servers (VPSs): VPS represents an intermediate step between a dedicated server and shared web hosting, but closer to the concept of a dedicated server. It consists of a "virtual server" within a physical server which hosts other virtual servers or VPS. Each VPS is totally isolated from all the other private servers and has its own allocation of disk space, RAM and processor capacity, so it only shares its physical location with other VPSs, but does not share resources (CPU or RAM) or software (each VPS is an independent server both at the level of operating system and software).
